This interactive textbook and course companion includes all the materials (lectures, video, supplemental readings,assignments, etc.) that students will need. The manual is organized by module and is designed to introduce students to the broad principles - in both theory and practice - of the grant – writing profession and process. This course provides students with the background necessary to identify potential funding opportunities (federal and private sources) and to develop a competitive funding proposal. The logic model and it’s essential functions as well as the proposed theory of change are discussed. This course reinforces and incorporates all the major elements of technical communication, and provides students with the opportunity to write a proposal for a real -life audience and purpose. The grant review process will also be examined.The hope is that students will leave the course with an understanding of grant writing, including the key research activities and writing methods that accompany successful preparation of grant proposals.
