About me

I have been actively teaching fulltime college courses since 2002. My objective is to provide quality education, train, and enhance the educational experience of students exploring open educational resource material in online, hybrid, and face-to-face classes here at Southern University in Shreveport. I became the first person in the department to certify as an online instructor in which I developed Freshman Composition resource material. Over the years, I have become dedicated to excellence in instruction with an interest in ways to decrease the financial burden our students experience when purchasing a textbook for their various courses. Many students are not able to obtain a textbook for the course; as a result, they get behind on their studies and drop the course during mid-term or thereafter. Open Educational Resources (OER) has become an opportunity for educators to choose to help improve student success, decrease textbook costs, and improve student outcomes.
