This is a comprehensive general chemistry textbook that covers all major topics that can be found in other popular general chemistry textbooks, such as General Chemistry, The Essential Concepts, 7th ed., by Chang and Goldsby, and Chemistry, The Central Science, 14th ed., by Brown, LeMay, et. al. This textbook can be used as the major textbook for college general chemistry courses.
Content Accuracy
But small mistakes are found in this textbook. This is not a significant issue because mistakes are also found in other top-selling general chemistry textbooks.
Relevance Longevity
General chemistry does not change over the years. The content is fine in the respect of longevity.
Clarity
The textbook is well written. The concepts are well explained. It is easy to read and to follow. It is a nice textbook to help students to learn chemistry.
Consistency
The textbook is consistent.
Modularity
The textbook is divided into small sections. Each section is self-sufficient which makes the book easy following.
Organization Structure Flow
The overall structure of this textbook is very similar to other top-selling textbooks. It is well organized.
Interface
The interface is clear with the table of content on the left and the main text on the right. Figures are of high quality and help to explain the concepts very well. The display quality of the mathematical equations and symbols is very good for the using of MathJax.
Grammatical Errors
No grammar error was found.
Cultural Relevance
