The book opens by explaining the time and dedication it took to take this book from idea to reality. Once you move past the acknowledgements you will find a nicely laid out table of contents. The book does well by covering the major elements involved in public speaking. It tackles all the themes found highly priced textbooks while also making the material user friendly. The authors do well by adding in photos and charts when needed to help expand upon the text. I think the authors did a wonderful job at making the book appeal to college level readers by removing fluff material and getting down to the facts. You can tell from the content the authors want students to put the information to use in a classroom setting. However, the authors could do well to continue to remove fluff by removing words such as olfactory or gustatory as they play little role in actually giving a speech.
